The grade 7’s have established a plan to highlight the diverse learners in our school community in a positive way. Their first goal is to identify the ways in which students differ in our school. They would like to briefly present a quick 2 min video to classes to define what diversity is. They would explain their project to the classes and have students make a “diversity statement” to identify the specific ways they are unique, different, special etc. The grade 7s will then sort through and select an equitable sample that reflects our school community. They would like to then record these students and their statements to create a diversity video to post on YOUTUBE to share with the larger community
Diversity means that there are lots of different kinds of things.
Just as there are lots of different makes of cars, bikes, washing machines, balls or just about anything you can think of, so too is the diversity among people. Diversity can be used to describe many things: The way we look, languages we speak, things we believe, traditions, where we live, things we enjoy.
What is one way you are Unique or special? What makes you different? What is cool or unknown about you? Summarize this into ONE sentence and submit to CopelandClass
